For the third consecutive year, Art Cairo continues its collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, reaffirming a shared commitment to preserving, contextualizing, and re-presenting Egypt’s modern artistic heritage within a contemporary framework.
Through this ongoing partnership, Art Cairo has established “Collection from the Museum” as a recurring institutional program one that bridges public collections and contemporary audiences, and repositions museum-held works within an active, living art dialogue.
In its seventh edition, Art Cairo presents a solo museum presentation of Inji Efflatoun, drawn from the collection of the Egyptian Museum of Modern Art.
A pivotal figure in modern Egyptian art, Efflatoun’s practice unfolded at the intersection of artistic experimentation and political conviction. Rejecting the privileges of her upbringing, she aligned her work with feminist and leftist movements, translating social struggle, resistance, and lived realities into a powerful visual language. Her imprisonment in 1959 marked a profound shift in her work, leading to a later period characterized by luminosity, movement, and an intensified engagement with color without abandoning the ethical core of her practice.
This presentation foregrounds Efflatoun not only as an artist of historical significance, but as a figure whose work continues to resonate within Egypt’s cultural and political memory affirming the museum collection as a vital, living archive.

للعام الثالث على التوالي، يواصل فن القاهرة تعاونه مع وزارة الثقافة، تأكيدًا على التزامٍ مشترك بصون التراث الفني الحديث في مصر، وإعادة تقديمه ضمن سياق معاصر وحيوي.
ومن خلال هذا التعاون المستمر، رسّخ فن القاهرة برنامج «مجموعة من متحف» بوصفه مسارًا مؤسسيًا ثابتًا، يربط بين المجموعات العامة وجمهور اليوم، ويعيد إدماج الأعمال المتحفية في حوار فني حي ومتجدد.
في دورته السابعة، يقدّم فن القاهرة عرضًا متحفيًا فرديًا لأعمال الفنانة إنجي أفلاطون، من مقتنيات المتحف المصري للفن الحديث.
تُعد إنجي أفلاطون إحدى الشخصيات المحورية في تاريخ الفن المصري الحديث، حيث تشكّلت تجربتها عند تقاطع الممارسة الفنية مع الالتزام السياسي. تمرّدت على امتيازات نشأتها، وارتبطت نضالاتها بالحركة النسوية والتيارات اليسارية، ليصبح الفن لديها وسيلة لرصد الواقع الاجتماعي ومساءلة السلطة. شكّل سجنها عام ١٩٥٩ محطة فاصلة في مسيرتها، ممهّدًا لمرحلة لاحقة اتّسمت بالضوء والحركة واللون، دون أن تتخلّى عن جوهرها النقدي.
يقدّم هذا العرض قراءة مركّزة لإنجي أفلاطون بوصفها فنانة ذات أثر مستمر في الذاكرة الثقافية المصرية، ويؤكّد دور المجموعات المتحفية كأرشيف حيّ قابل لإعادة القراءة والتفعيل
